Nikkei Ecolas:
Chrome-Free Colored Aluminum for
Better Health and a Cleaner Environment

Until now, processing agents containing hexavalent chromium have been used in the pretreatment stages of paint to improve its corrosion resistance, as well as the adhesion of the substrate and coating. Since it became known that hexavalent chromium is highly toxic, however, regulations have been enacted worldwide to restrict its usage.
In response, the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ Group led the world in developing Nikkei Ecolas, a chrome-free colored aluminum that complies with ELV, WEEE, RoHS, and other such standards and completely avoids the use of chrome, lead, and other materials and agents that negatively impact the environment. It is now used in fields such as automobiles, transport, and construction.
